Kathinka Dittrich van Weringh

Kathinka Dittrich van Weringh (nee Weiss ; * 1941 ) is a German cultural politician.

Dittrich van Weringh studied history , English and political science in Heidelberg , Hamburg , Manchester and Munich and graduated in 1966. Her dissertation from 1987 was entitled The Dutch Feature Film of the 1930s and German Film Emigration.

From 1967 she was employed at the Goethe-Institut , among other things as director of the Goethe-Institut in Amsterdam; From 1991 to 1994 she was the director of the branch of the institute in Moscow, which she largely co-founded. From 1975 to 1994 she published regularly in the Börsenblatt for the German book trade . From 1994 to 1998 she held the office of Head of Culture for the City of Cologne . Since 1998 she has worked as a freelance cultural consultant.

In 1995 she was awarded the Aleksandr Men Prize for her services to German-Russian cultural exchange .

From 2003 to 2007 she was on the board of the European Cultural Foundation in Amsterdam.
