Lars Peter Schmidt

Lars Peter Schmidt (born July 14, 1967 in Magdeburg ; † January 6, 2017 ) was a senior employee of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation .

Life

In 1986 Schmidt completed his Abitur in Stendal . This was followed by studying Protestant theology and history in Halle (Saale) , Hanover and Fresno / California.

Schmidt worked for the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Turkey from 1995 to 2001 . In 2001, he was in Hanover with a dissertation about the conflict between the state and the Church in the GDR to the military instruction doctorate . From 2001 to 2005 he coordinated the foundation's work in Central and Eastern Europe and wrote works on German-Turkish and European topics. From 2005 to 2007 he was head of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Bangkok / Thailand . From 2007 on, Lars Peter Schmidt headed the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's branch in Moscow / Russian Federation.

Most recently, he headed the India office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Delhi since 2013 . There he quickly established high-level relationships with the ruling BJP party for the foundation .

Lars Peter Schmidt was married and the father of three children.
