Cultural Studies College Konstanz
The Kulturwissenschaftliche Kolleg Konstanz was founded in October 2007 in connection with the excellence initiative of the federal and state governments. It is based in the former Bishop's villa in Konstanz on the banks of the Seerhein .
Until 2019, the college was sponsored by the Cluster of Excellence “Cultural Foundations of Integration” in cooperation with the German Research Foundation . The college offers doctoral researchers to be released from their other official duties for up to a year in order to calmly pursue a specific research project with which they have previously applied for admission. For the duration of their fellowship, the college funds a replacement for the researchers concerned. Young academics as well as established scholars at home and abroad can apply.
The college is open to representatives from a wide variety of disciplines, in addition to historians , sociologists and literary scholars, as well as lawyers , ethnologists and administrative scientists working in cultural studies . The previous fellows included Kai Trampedach , Egon Flaig , Klaus Herbers , Nino Luraghi , Jürgen Osterhammel , Frank Daubner , Ronald G. Asch , Ulrich Gotter and Gabriele Schwab .
