The Kumagaya Rugby Stadium is a rugby stadium in the Japanese city ​​of Kumagaya , Saitama Prefecture , on the main island of Honshu . It is one of the twelve venues for the 2019 Rugby Union World Cup . The facility is centrally located in the east of the city, which is located in the greater Tokyo area. history

The Kumagaya rugby stadium opened in 1991. For the Rugby Union World Cup 2019, it was converted into a purely seated stadium. After the renovation, the sports facility will hold 24,000 spectators. An additional 6,000 seats will be created temporarily for the World Cup.

The stadium is mainly used for rugby games. The rugby club Panasonic Wild Knights plays its home games here. There are also games of the school and university team selections of Japan.
