Kumihimo Iwa ( transcription from Japanese く み ひ も 岩 'lichen rock ' ) is a rocky outcrop on the Prince Harald Coast in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . It rises in the northwest of the entrance from the Lützow-Holm-Bucht in the Fletta .
Japanese cartographers mapped it using aerial photographs and surveys carried out in 1969 and 1984. They named it in 1985 based on the name of the bay Fletta ( Norwegian for lichen ).
