At times it even gave the pen its name. The veneration of the cross , celebrated annually on May 3rd or the following Sunday in Freckenhorst in a long tradition , gained considerably in importance under Kunegundis and their successors. Kunegundi's year of death is unknown. Her successor Ida took office as abbess around 1225.
