Kungwini ( English Kungwini Local Municipality ) was a municipality in the South African district of Metsweding in the Gauteng province . The administrative seat of the municipality was in Bronkhorstspruit . Kungwini has been part of the Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality since 2011 . Jacob Masango was the last mayor. The ANC last provided the majority in the local council.

The name of the community comes from the Ndebele term for 'fog'. According to projections, the municipality had 104,149 inhabitants in 2007. It covered an area of ​​2202 square kilometers.
