The Kunigundenberg is a small mountain within the boundaries of the city of Lauf an der Pegnitz .

The 383  m above sea level. NN high mountain lies a little outside the narrow urban development, about 1 kilometer north of the old town of Lauf. At its summit is u. a. a restaurant, which is currently closed and was used as refugee accommodation, and a beer garden.

The oldest and most important structure on the mountain is a medieval sacred building, the St. Kunigund Chapel. This single-aisled sandstone building was probably built in the late 15th century, but was burned in 1910. The building was rebuilt within two years, but the original interior was lost. During some renovation work to mark the 500th anniversary of the chapel, it was discovered that the choir had become dilapidated. This damage is obviously a long-term consequence of the fire. A wooden support structure was put in to secure it, as no immediate renovation was possible due to lack of funds. In July 2009 the chapel was restored after a year of work. The funds for the renovation were largely donated by the city of Lauf, the population and local companies.

The name of the mountain is derived from the namesake of the chapel, Empress Kunigunde , who was canonized in 1200 .
