Art path people traces

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The MenschenSpuren art path is a sculpture path with works by 11 artists in the Neandertal and begins directly at the Neanderthal Museum . He takes on the tension between human and nature.

The Kunstweg is in the open and public space and is therefore accessible at all times. For each sculpture that was created especially for the project, there is a column with the name of the sculpture, the name of the artist and several audio connections for headphones through which interviews with the artists can be heard.

The project was developed by Volker Friedrich Marten in collaboration with the Neanderthal Museum Foundation and implemented in 2002 with the Mettmann district as the sponsor of the project.

The artists and their sculptures and works

When starting from the Neanderthal Museum, the order is counter-clockwise.

  • The work of art Habitat was a five meter long wickerwork and hung under a protective horse chestnut. The habitat was irretrievably destroyed and removed for security reasons. There is now an explanation board and a photo of it.
  • The work of art Being is a cast iron image of the artist lying in the water of the Düssel.
