Sculpture path

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sculpture trails (including art hiking trails ) are walking or hiking trails on which there are numerous sculptures specially designed for this location . As an artistic concept, sculpture paths are close to Land Art . When creating sculpture paths, an attempt is made to bring works of art and landscape into harmony in order to increase aesthetic enjoyment.

In recent years, numerous sculpture trails have been created, especially in German-speaking countries. In addition to aesthetic aspects, there are often economic and tourism interests of the respective municipalities. In contrast to the sculpture garden , however, no entrance fee is required and they are usually not affiliated with any institution.

The sculptures are often designed jointly by the artists during a sculpture symposium .
