The Hase-Ems-Tour is a 265 km long long- distance cycle path in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia . The tour mostly runs on paved or paved paths and roads, sometimes the route leads on unpaved forest and field paths. In sections it runs along the Hase or the Ems , in some cases it moves away from these rivers.

course

The Hase-Ems route begins at the Hasequelle near Melle . In a northerly direction the route leads along the Hase. About one kilometer southwest of Gesmold you can reach the hare bifurcation . About two thirds of the water continues to flow over the Hase to the Ems. The remaining third is fed to the Weser via the Else and Werre . At the bifurcation there is a direct connection to the Else-Werre-Radweg , which leads east to the Weser in Bad Oeynhausen .

Over the foothills of the Teutoburg Forest you get to Osnabrück and on to Bramsche . Shortly before Bersenbrück, the rabbit feeds the Alfsee . From Bersenbrück it goes north to Quakenbrück . This is where the hare branches. The Hase Inland Delta is a relic of the last Ice Age. Now, in a north-westerly direction, along the Essen Canal , the Lager Hase and the Großer Hase , the path leads to Löningen . Germany's largest pillar-less hall church is in Löningen. The path through the Hasetal is lined with numerous fruit trees.

The route now leads west into the Emsland . In Haselünne , the largest contiguous junipers Germany, basis is for numerous distilleries. Mapping and protecting the fruit trees along the route is one of the projects of the Mundraub internet platform . In Meppen the hare flows into the Ems . Upstream it goes south towards the old fortress town of Lingen . Via Salzbergen you reach the end point of the Hase-Ems-Tour with Rheine . Osnabrück is around 55 kilometers away.
