Mouth robbery (website)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mundraub.org is an internet platform on which sources of fruit and vegetables can be entered. The aim of the site is to point out forgotten parts of the cultural landscape and to protect them.

activities

Since the platform was launched in 2010, tens of thousands of sites have been registered across Germany. The most commonly linked cultivars include apple, cherry, pear, and mirabelle plum trees. In addition to fruit trees, nuts, herbs and berry varieties can also be entered.

In order to avoid misuse, since the relaunch of the site in October 2011, it has been necessary to register to mark sites. Previously, there had been isolated complaints from residents and municipalities who feared overuse of the marked trees.

As part of the Synaging Action Camp 2011 , participants created a handbook in which general rules for the use and care of fruit trees are pointed out. From June 2012 it will be offered in a revised and illustrated version. The financing was carried out by means of crowdsourcing and is one of the most successful projects on the VisionBakery funding site.

In 2012, a cooperation between Terra Concordia gUG and the Hasetal Tourist Association was agreed for a joint project. The plan is to protect the fruit trees along the Hase-Ems cycle path , in which local actors with trained sponsors help maintain it.

Reception and awards

Since its inception, the platform has been mentioned in over 200 press, 50 radio and over 30 TV contributions, in its own contributions in, among others, ARD-Ratgeber , Hamburger Abendblatt , Focus , Süddeutsche Zeitung DerWesten and Deutschlandradio , internationally by Hürriyet and National Public Radio and in agency reports from Agence France-Presse and Reuters .

Mundraub.org is recognized as a Werkstatt-N-Projekt 2011 and 2012 by the German Council for Sustainable Development . The “Mundraub-Region Hasetal” project is funded with € 125,000 by the German Federal Environmental Foundation.
