from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Art meets Kohl is a sculpture exhibition that has been taking place in Münster since 2005 .

description

The exhibition takes place in three allotment gardens, in several private gardens in the "Inselviertel" and in the public space in the Münster Kinderhaus . A signposted sculpture trail of around four kilometers leads through the exhibition, connecting the gardens with one another and opening up further permanently installed sculptures, historical sculptures and art in public spaces.

The organizers are a representative of the Bürgerhaus Kinderhaus, an artist based in the Kinderhaus and an art historian from Münster. These will make a pre-selection from up to ten submitted works per artist. The place of installation is determined jointly by the artist and the garden owner.

The path can be done on foot or by bike. An art historian from Münster offers guided tours where interpretation aids and further information on works of art and artists are given. Special tours for the blind and deaf are offered.

In 2009, two sponsorship awards will be awarded for the first time. The “Kinderhauser Sculpture Prize” is endowed with 2000 euros and is awarded to the artist “whose contributions clearly demonstrate the ability to innovate and have their own profile.” The 450 euros “young talent prize” goes to the artist, “who only recently is active and whose contribution indicates in a special way that his artistic work is worthy of support. It can also be given to a 60-year-old who only discovered his artistic streak in old age. "
