history

Local history

Until the end of the 18th century, Rodenbach belonged to the Palatinate court of Weilerbach . A road ran through the village from Lautern to Kusel , which is why there was an Electoral Palatinate customs post here . In 1787, two school buildings and 45 residential buildings were recorded. The district Rodenbach included 924  acre arable land, 184 acres of meadows, seven acres of gardens and 100 acres of forest.

In 1794, French revolutionary troops had taken the left bank of the Rhine . From 1798 to 1814, the region, including Rodenbach, belonged to the canton of Kaiserslautern in the Donnersberg department and was subordinate to Mairie Weilerbach . Due to the agreements made at the Congress of Vienna and a Bavarian-Austrian state treaty , the Palatinate became part of the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1816 . The municipality of Rodenbach in the canton of Kaiserslautern, which was part of the Kaiserslautern Land Commissioner (renamed the Kaiserslautern District Office in 1862 ) in the Palatinate (Bavaria) , remained under the Bavarian administration .

From 1939 the place was part of the district of Kaiserslautern . After the Second World War , Otterbach became part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate within the French occupation zone . In the course of the first administrative reform in Rhineland-Palatinate , the community became part of the newly formed community of Weilerbach in 1972 .
