Langwieden is a municipality in the Kaiserslautern district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the community of Bruchmühlbach-Miesau .
geography
The community lies on the edge of the Sickinger Höhe between the Palatinate Forest and Saar-Hunsrück nature parks . The Artamhof and Steigwiesen residential areas also belong to Langwieden .
history
Until the end of the 18th century, the place belonged to the Landstuhl rule of the Lords of Sickingen . After the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine by French revolutionary troops (1794), the place belonged to the canton Homburg in the Donnersberg department from 1798 to 1814 and was administered by Mairie Lambsborn . On the basis of the agreements made at the Congress of Vienna (1815), the region first came to Austria , in 1816 it was ceded to the Kingdom of Bavaria . Under the Bavarian administration, the canton of Homburg and with it the municipality of Langwieden came to the Landkommissariat Homburg in the Rhine district in 1818 , from which the district office of Homburg emerged in 1862 . In 1920 it moved from the Homburg district office to the Zweibrücken district office .
