Eckhart Dietz (born October 31, 1933 in Pfäffingen near Tübingen ; † January 2, 2019 ) was a German sculptor who lived and worked in Schwäbisch Gmünd .

Life

Eckhart Dietz graduated from Parler-Gymnasium in Schwäbisch Gmünd in 1952. After studying biology, he studied from 1955 to 1961 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart under Otto Baum, among others . From 1962 he was a freelance sculptor in Schwäbisch Gmünd. He taught at several universities and was an advisor to the art commission in Baden-Württemberg.

Dietz is the father of the Green politician Ricarda Lang (* 1994).
