Klaus H. Hartmann , (* 1955 in Schwäbisch Gmünd ) is a German sculptor .

biography

Klaus H. Hartmann studied sculpture with David Evison at the Berlin University of the Arts from 1980 to 1987 . In 1982 he was a founding member of the ODIOUS group (with Gisela von Bruchhausen , Klaus Duschat , Hartmut Stielow , David Lee Thompson , and Gustav Reinhardt, among others ). The group ran a joint studio for years. The members exhibited together or individually. In 1984 Hartmann was honored at the XVIIIe Prix Internationale d'Art, Monte Carlo, in 1985 he became a master student of David Evison, in 1987 he received a working grant from the Senator for Cultural Affairs, Berlin, and in 1988 a studio grant from the Karlhofer Society, Berlin. Since 2005 he has been a member of the German Society for Garden Art and Landscape Culture e. V.

Hartmann works with painted and deformed sheet metal and deliberately contrasts it with calm, clearly formed individual elements.
