Klaus Duschat (* 1955 in Ventersdorp , Northwest Province , South Africa ) is a German sculptor .

life and work

Klaus Duschat studied sculpture at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences with Helmut Rogge and Dietrich Klakow and at the Berlin University of the Arts with Bernhard Heiliger . While still a student, he founded the group ODIOUS with fellow students David Lee Thompson , Klaus Hartmann , Gisela von Bruchhausen , Hartmut Stielow and Gustav Reinhardt . The six artists worked for many years in a shared studio in Berlin and exhibited together regularly.

Duschat uses steel scrap , stainless steel and above all COR-TEN steel for his sculptures . His works can be found in sculpture gardens and in public spaces in many German cities. With ODIOUS or alone he took part in sculpture symposia in Germany, India, Turkey and the USA.
