Ventersdorp [ fɛntɛrsdɔrp ] is a small town in the South African province of northwest . It is located in the JB Marks local church in Dr Kenneth Kaunda District . It has about 4,204 inhabitants (2011 census). Until 2016 it was the seat of the municipality of Ventersdorp .

Ventersdorp is located in the fertile valley of the Vaal at an altitude of 1479 meters above sea level. The city is 110 kilometers away from Pretoria and the Witwatersrand . It is 50 kilometers to Potchefstroom , 70 kilometers to Klerksdorp and 90 kilometers to Lichtenburg .
