The Ellertal is a landscape east of Bamberg in the municipality of Litzendorf . It stretches along the Ellerbach between the two highest elevations in the Bamberg district , the Geisberg at 585  m and the Stammberg at 559.5  m .

In 1994, the Franconian Street of Sculptures was laid out in the valley . The ascent to Franconian Switzerland forms the Ellerberg, a road with several serpentines, which is especially popular with motorcyclists. Above the ascent, hidden in the forest, there is the Jungfernhöhle , a Stone Age cult site.

The villages in Ellertal include the villages of Tiefenellern , Lohndorf , Litzendorf , Naisa and Pödeldorf .
