---|---|---|---|---|---|
Archaic traces | On the west side of the Saar above the bridges at the mouth of the Saar ( location ) | 2001 | Isabell feather wedge | The stone is on the western bank of the Saar a few meters upstream from the Saarbrücken Concerts. It symbolizes human intervention in nature. The surface of the stone is unprocessed. The deeply carved lines represent injuries - archaic traces of human efforts to change. Created as part of the sculpture symposium 2001 in Konz. | |
Stein at the confluence of the Saar in the Moselle | At the mouth of the Saar (west side) ( location ) | 1999 | Christoph Mancke | Triangular stone in which you can sit, stand and come to rest. Created as part of the sculpture symposium in Oberbillig 1999 - In the background the Konz railway bridge over the Moselle and at the very top the lights of Markusberg and Mariensäule in Trier. Created during the sculpture symposium 1999 in Konz. | |
Head fragment | On the Saar between Oberbillig and Wasserliesch ( location ) | 2001 | Karl-Heinrich German | Karl-Heinz Deutsch places people, more precisely the human skull, at the center of his sculptural work. Its sight head is made of sandstone, but the smoothly processed surface does not allow any concessions to the natural shape of the stone. Created as part of the sculpture symposium 2001 in Konz. | |
Au bord de l'eau | On the Saar on the banks of the Saar in the eastern area of Oberbillig ( location ) | 1999 | Bertrand Ney | The Luxembourgish sculptor refers to the river that divides or connects Luxembourg and Germany. The two-part plastic is within sight of the ferry that connects Oberbillig with Wasserbillig in Luxembourg. Created during the 1999 sculpture symposium in Konz. | 7th |
Stone block with a hollow shape | On the Saar on the banks of the Saar in the western area of Oberbillig ( location ) | 1999 | Albert Hettinger | Albert Hettinger split a large block of sandstone and symmetrically carved out a geometric shape in both halves. The stone was then pushed back together again and now hides a secret - invisible from the outside - created during the 1999 sculpture symposium in Konz. | |
Angel | On the Saar on the banks of the Saar in the western area of Oberbillig ( location ) | 1999 | Georg Ahrens | The sculpture by Georg Ahrens recalls the past of this region, in which menhirs were erected as early as Celtic times, which marked the connecting lines between earth and sky as "heavenly pillars" and which were worshiped by people as the seat of the gods. Angel No. 16 (1999). Udelfanger sandstone, 7 m high - the sculpture was moved because it had to give way to a beer garden at the original location and is now a few meters upstream from the "stone block with hollow form". Created during the 1999 sculpture symposium in Konz. | |
Big pointer | On the ridge far above the Moselle between Wellen and Nittel ( location ) | 2001 | Helmut Waxweiler | An examination of being human. Only the hand is carved out, the lower part is unworked. As a landmark, it not only marks geographical borders, but also the cosmic borders between heaven and earth. Created as part of the sculpture symposium 2001 in Konz. | |
Knee with joint | In the vineyards of Nittel ( location ) | 2001 | Hartwig Mülleitner | The individual elements of this formerly compact, down-to-earth block are reinterpreted in the new combination. In the vineyards above Nittel, in visual contact with Jürgen Waxweiler's "Great Pointer", he takes up the motif of the river bend, the knee that the Moselle forms at this point , on. The ball pushed between the two long elements acts as a joint that makes movement possible in the first place. Created as part of the sculpture symposium 2001 in Konz. | |
character | At the level crossing south of the Nittel sewage treatment plant ( location ) | 2001 | Willi Bauer | The tectonically strict structure and reduced to essential basic forms is the "sign" by Willi Bauer on the banks of the Moselle next to the level crossing a little up the Moselle from Nittel. Created as part of the sculpture symposium 2001 in Konz. | |
Waypoint | At the level crossing south of the Nittel sewage treatment plant ( location ) | 2001 | Martine Andernach | The sculpture "Wegmarke" by Martine Andernach consists of a light granite from Sardinia, the same material as Willi Bauer's "zeichen ". A narrow slit between the two parts allows a new view of the river and landscape. Created as part of the sculpture symposium 2001 in Konz. | |
Culture structure | Right on the river bank between Wincheringen and Wehr ( location ) | 2001 | Thomas Foehr | The shape of the sculpture on the Moselweg between Wincheringen and Wehr is reminiscent of the landmarks or national emblems of the Middle Ages, with which a certain point or area was marked, in terms of its restrained, only superficial relief design. He uses the archaic design language of ancient stonemasons, as we find them in a similar form on Roman sarcophagi. Created as part of the sculpture symposium 2001 in Konz. | |
Impressioni distratte | Right on the river bank across from Ehnen ( location ) | 2001 | Claudia Farina | "Impressioni distratte", which can best be translated as "scattered impressions" or "fleeting impressions", is the title of the two-part work, homage to the fishing boats that the artist sees from her room window on the beach. Created as part of the sculpture symposium 2001 in Konz. | |
Heaven ladder | On the riverside near Wehr ( location ) | 2001 | Hubert Maier | The "Heavenly Ladder" Hubert Maiers rises below the village of Wehr and marks - more clearly and even more challenging than the angel sculpture by Georg Ahrens or the "Big Pointer" by Jürgen Waxweiler - a possible connection between heaven and earth. Created as part of the sculpture symposium 2001 in Konz. |
|
Prière de toucher | On the riverside near Werth ( location ) | 2001 | François Weil | François Weil's kinetic work "Prière de toucher" is in sight of the "Heaven Ladder". Touching them sets them in motion as if their natural weight were not there. Like Hartwig Mülleitner's "Knee with Joint", this work cannot be clearly assigned to "sculpture" or "plastic". It moves on the border between, because basically it connects the two. Created as part of the sculpture symposium 2001 in Konz. |
|
Two waves | On the riverside near Werth near the train station ( location ) | 2001 | Susanne Specht | Spread out, the two stones rest next to each other and invite the visitor to sit down and relax. The bench or the individual seat are not just a form, but also a well thought-out function. Created as part of the sculpture symposium 2001 in Konz. | |
Communicare | On the riverside near Palzem near the train station ( location ) | 2001 | Claudia Farina and Ulrich Müller | Claudia Farina and Ulrich Müller Communicare. Created as part of the sculpture symposium 2001 in Konz. |
