Kurganets-25 ( Russian Курганец-25 ) is the name of a planned Russian armored personnel carrier and crew transport vehicle .

The tank is to be produced at Kurganmaschsawod in Kurgan . The Kurganez-25 is to replace the armored personnel carriers BMP-2 , BMP-3 and the airborne tank BMD . It was first shown to the professional audience at the Russia Arms Expo 2013 military exhibition and publicly during the Victory Parade on May 9, 2015 in Moscow .

In December 2018, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Ivanovich Borissov announced that the Kurganez-25 and the T-14 main battle tank would not be mass-produced until further notice. He did not give reasons for this. In the West, financial bottlenecks or electronic and mechatronic problems in highly complex projects are assumed.
