Schierke spa gardens
The Kurpark Schierke is a spa park in the village of Schierke, which belongs to the city of Wernigerode in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in the center of Schierke on the south side of Brockenstrasse . The terrain here slopes down from Brockenstraße to the south towards Kalten Bode . The Feuerstein Arena is located southeast of the park .
Plant and history
The spa park is designed to be close to nature. Large granite blocks , water features and the holy lake are striking . On the initiative of Schierk resident Roman Warnicke, quotations from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Faust II were carved on various granite blocks in the park . In the fifth act of the work, Goethe describes the area to which he himself had traveled.
In the south-western area of the spa park there was the listed open-air theater Schierke , which was destroyed at the beginning of the 21st century and only remains in ruins. A new open-air stage was built elsewhere in the park to replace it.
Various events take place in the spa gardens. These include the Schierker Winter Sports Weeks, the Walpurgis Celebration, the Schierker Music Summer and the Fantasia Festival.
