Kurt Denkert

Kurt Denkert (born December 23, 1929 in Lünen , Westphalia ; † September 11, 2017 there ) was a German administrative officer and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and commercial school, Denkert attended the Administration and Business Academy in Düsseldorf , where he obtained the social and administrative diploma in 1954 and then completed an administration apprenticeship, which he completed in 1957 with the first and in 1959 with the second administrative examination. From 1950 to 1957 he worked as an administrative clerk and from then until 1968 as an administrative clerk at the city of Dortmund . From November 1968 until his retirement in 1975 he was an alderman (department head) of the city of Lünen. In addition to his professional activity, he had been a member of the Public Services, Transport and Traffic Union (ÖTV) since 1946 .

politics

Denkert joined the SPD in 1946 and became a member of the local council of the SPD Lünen-Osterfeld in 1957. He had been a board member of the SPD city association of Lünen since 1960 and was elected chairman in 1975. From 1964 to 1968 he was a member of the City Council of Lünen. He was a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament from July 21, 1962 to July 25, 1970 and from May 28, 1975 to May 29, 1985.

Denkert was mayor of the city of Lünen from 1989 to 1994 . Subsequently, he withdrew from politics.
