Kurt Heissig

Kurt Heissig (also Kurt Heissig ; * 1941 in Munich ) is a German geologist and paleontologist .

Heißig grew up in Munich and Kirchheim unter Teck and studied geology and paleontology in Munich and Tübingen. He received his doctorate in 1969 at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich on The Rhinocerotidae (Mammalia) from the Upper Oligocene fissure filling of Gaimersheim near Ingolstadt in Bavaria and their phylogenetic status . Until his retirement in 2006 he was a curator at the Bavarian State Collection for Paleontology and Geology . Hot is a member of the German Sub-Commission for Tertiary Stratigraphy within the German Stratigraphic Commission .

He edited the two-volume documentation Odsun for the Sudeten German Archive , of which he is hot, together with Roland J. Hoffmann . The expulsion of the Sudeten Germans. Documentation on the causes, planning and implementation of an “ethnic cleansing” in Central Europe 1848 / 49–1945 / 46.

Hot is the second chairman of the Bund Alter Gildenschafter, the old man of the German Guild . From 1988 to 2005 he was "editor" of the papers of the German guild .
