Kurt Kahl

Kurt Kahl (born May 30, 1929 in Vienna ; † June 28, 2012 there ) was an Austrian journalist and author .

Kahl studied theater studies and German at the University of Vienna and wrote a dissertation on Ferdinand Raimund . He then worked as a feature editor for the Arbeiter-Zeitung and then, from 1967, for the Kurier , where he became head of inserts. Kahl cultivated the theater and book criticism, but also wrote non-fiction books on cultural topics and artist biographies. In 1978 and 1979 Kahl was one of the jurors for the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize . In 1998 Kahl received the City of Vienna Prize for Journalism .
