Kurt Milde

Kurt Milde (born June 14, 1932 in Steinschönau , Czechoslovakia ; † November 23, 2007 ) was a German university professor and architect .

Life

Milde completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter and studied architecture at the Technical University of Dresden from 1950 to 1957 . He then became an assistant and senior assistant at Georg Münter's university chair . At his suggestion, he wrote the dissertation The Reception of Ancient Forms in Bourgeois Architecture , which he successfully defended in 1967. After Münter's death in 1964 he took over his lectures in building history. In 1969 he became a lecturer in the theory and history of architecture at the Technical University of Dresden, where he completed his habilitation in 1973 on the subject of the historical development of the social function of the architectural environment and was appointed full professor for the theory and history of architecture. He presented numerous publications, including 1981 Neo-Renaissance in 19th century German architecture .

Heidrun Laudel was one of his students .
