biography

As a 15-year-old, Saugestad took part in FIS races from November 2007 , initially mainly in the giant slalom and slalom disciplines . Notable successes were largely absent in the following years - until the 2011/12 season, in which he won three FIS races in the Super-G discipline. He made his debut in the European Cup on November 28, 2012 in the downhill in Radstadt , but in the following years he could hardly set any accents. In the winter of 2014/15 he won seven FIS races, while he was eliminated in all three races at the 2015 Winter Universiade in the Sierra Nevada . In the 2015/16 season he was able to establish himself in the European Cup and won the downhill in Sarntal on February 5, 2016 .

Saugestad made his World Cup debut on February 27, 2016 in the Super-G in Hinterstoder , where he did not finish. He won his first World Cup points on February 25, 2017 with 21st place in the downhill from Kvitfjell. A month later he won the Norwegian Super-G championship in Narvik . He achieved his best World Cup result of the 2017/18 season on March 11, 2018 with eleventh place in the downhill from Kvitfjell.
