Baddi is located in the Solan District . In the 2011 census, the population was 25,639, with suburbs it is 29,911. The population is divided as follows: 95% Hindus , 3.3% Muslims and 0.8% Sikhs . The city is located at an altitude of 442 m in a basin that is framed in the northeast by the Front Himalayas and in the southwest by a Siwalik chain . The Sirsa Nadi River , a left tributary of the Satluj , flows through the basin in a north-westerly direction. The district capital Solan is located 30 km east of Baddi.
