Kurt Nederkorn

Kurt Nederkorn (born May 21, 1898 in Klitzschen ( Torgau district ), † February 8, 1994 in Ludwigsburg ) was a German political scientist, local politician and journalist. From 1944 to 1945 he was Lord Mayor of Mühlhausen / Thuringia and from 1953 to 1977 editor of the journal The Public Administration .

Life

Johann Heinrich Kurt Nederkorn was born in Klitzschen in what was then the Torgau district in 1898 . After finishing school and participating in World War I , he received his doctorate in political science from the University of Halle in 1922 . He then worked in the private sector until he switched to public administration in 1927.

In 1933 Nederkorn joined the NSDAP . On August 16, 1934, he married Annemarie Margarete Henschel (1898–1968). He had been the mayor of Waltershausen since April of the same year . In 1944 he was appointed Lord Mayor of Mühlhausen.

After the end of the war and denazification , Nederkorn began to found the journal Die Public Administration in 1947 , of which he was editor from 1953 to 1977. For his services to the magazine, he received an honorary doctorate in law from the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen in 1973 . In 1968 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.
