Kurt Neumann (chess player)

Kurt Neumann (born March 15, 1947 in Essen ) is a German chess player . He is German champion in correspondence chess .

Neumann has been playing correspondence chess since 1976. He qualified for the first time in 1983 for participation in the German championship DFM via the promotion tournaments. In 1997 he was only twelfth in the finals of the 26th DFM. At the 30th DFM 2001 he missed the qualification for the finals in the preliminary round.

In 2003 he finally won the 32nd DFM (+6 = 8 −0) with 10 points from 14 games and became German correspondence chess master . For this he received the title of National Correspondence Chess Master . In the semifinals of the 28th World Cup in 2006, he earned a standard for receiving the title of Honored International Master (SIM).

His Elo rating in correspondence chess is 2523 (as of the 4th quarter of 2013).

Neumann is a professional accountant. He lives in Bergkamen .
