Kurt Peter Kremer

Kurt Peter Kremer (* 1922 ) is a German architect .

Kremer founded his office as a freelance architect in Bochum in 1952. At first he mainly built church facilities. From the 1970s onwards he received orders for numerous public buildings in the vicinity of the newly emerging Ruhr University Bochum , including several student dormitories . He was also involved in renovations while preserving the preservation of historical monuments , for example at the German Mining Museum , the Westphalian steelworks and the gastronomy in the Bochum city park .

The Evangelical Hustadtzentrum , which he built in 1971 , was listed as a historical monument in 2008. The building is a typical construction of the 1960s and 1970s using exposed concrete , at the same time Kremer's decades of work in Bochum was recognized as "important for this era with his work".

Honors

On November 6, 1997, Kremer was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .
