Kurt Pochhammer

Kurt Pochhammer (born August 22, 1920 , † August 18, 2004 in Potsdam ) was a German physician and sports official.

Career

Pochhammer was a specialist in the field of abdominal surgery and chief physician at the Catholic Dominikus Hospital in Berlin.

He was a sailor in the Berlin sailing club Seglerhaus am Wannsee . From 1973 to 1985 he was President of the German Sailing Association (DSV) and from 1985 was a member of the Council of Elders of the National Olympic Committee for Germany . During his term of office, the work of the DSV was modernized and a new office was set up in Hamburg.
