Kurt Sutter

Kurt Sutter (born May 5, 1960 ) is an American television director , screenwriter and actor . He is the creator of the series Sons of Anarchy , The Bastard Executioner and Mayans MC , for which he also works in the aforementioned positions. In Sons of Anarchy , he played the supporting role of Otto Delaney, an imprisoned member of the eponymous motorcycle club, from 2008 to 2013.

Life

Sutter began his work in the television business as a screenwriter from 2002 and then in the following years in various producer positions for the television series The Shield - Law of Violence . He made his directorial debut in 2007 with the production of an episode of this series. In addition, he was seen here for the first time in a small role as an actor.

From 2008 to 2014 he was primarily devoted to Sons of Anarchy , where he also directed six episodes. In 13 episodes of the series he played the imprisoned and nearly blind gang member "Otto Delaney". Only in 2012 he was involved in some episodes of Outlaw Empires as executive producer in another production. In 2015 the boxer drama Southpaw was published, for which Sutter wrote the script. In September 2015, the US historical series The Bastard Executioner premiered, directed by Sutter and also starred in a supporting role. From 2018 to 2019, Mayans MC dedicated himself to the spin-off of Sons of Anarchy , but left the production before the broadcast of the second season and was relieved of his role as writer and showrunner .

Sutter has been married to actress Katey Sagal since 2004 . They have a daughter who was born in 2007.
