Kurt Zach

Kurt Zach (born September 11, 1942 in Deutsch Kaltenbrunn ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1989 to 1999 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

After elementary school in Deutsch Kaltenbrunn, Zach attended secondary school in Fürstenfeld . He learned the profession of upholsterer and did military service between 1960 and 1961 . Zach worked as an upholsterer until 1965 and became an insurance clerk in 1965.

Zach joined the SPÖ in 1959 and became executive chairman in 1964 and local party chairman of SPÖ-Deutsch Kaltenbrunn in 1982. In addition, from 1987 he was district chairman of the SPÖ Jennersdorf and from 1982 to 1990 mayor of Deutsch Kaltenbrunn. He represented the SPÖ in the state parliament from January 26, 1989 to March 17, 1999. Kurt Zach was awarded honorary citizenship in September 2013 for his services to the market town of Deutsch Kaltenbrunn.
