Kurt von Alten

Kurt Goswin Karl von Alten (born December 9, 1864 in Oldenburg , † September 23, 1927 in Hanover ) was a German administrative officer and member of parliament.

Life

Kurt von Alten comes from the second marriage of the Oldenburg Chamberlain, Friedrich Kurd von Alten, to Marie Friederike Alexandrine Freiin von Gayl, the daughter of Lieutenant General Ludwig Dietrich Eugen von Gayl . He studied law at the Universities of Heidelberg , Leipzig and Berlin . In 1886 he became a member of the Corps Vandalia Heidelberg . After graduating, he entered the Prussian civil service. He completed his government traineeship with the government in Opole . In 1894 he passed the government assessor exam. From 1900 to 1909 he was district administrator for the Schleswig district . From 1910 until after 1918 he was police chief of Magdeburg. Most recently he lived in Hanover.

Alten became a member of the Prussian House of Representatives on November 5, 1901 in a by-election for the constituency of Schleswig 6 (Schleswig without the Friedrichstadt district) , to which he belonged until May 6, 1902.
