Kurto Wendt (born January 4, 1965 in Neufelden , Upper Austria ) is an author and journalist living in Vienna .

He is best known as a co-organizer and mouthpiece of the Thursday demonstrations , which took place in Vienna for two years without interruption after the ÖVP / FPÖ federal government was sworn in in 2000.

1993 to 1997 studied German and philosophy in Vienna without a degree. He works as a lecturer in a media monitoring company of the Austria Press Agency APA and is also a works council, as a journalist (Augustin, Malmoe) and guest commentator ( Unique , Datum , Die Zeit ).

Wendt joined the KPÖ in 1988 , was national chairman of the KSV in 1993 , and was active in the Vienna KPÖ in the 2000s. In 2004 he resigned from the KPÖ.

In 2011 he published his first novel You are talking to Jean Améry , what can I do for you? , his second novel I ran out of lemons was published in spring 2013, his third, July is on the house , in March 2014.

In 2014 he participated in the Bettel Lobby Vienna.
