The of Kutzleben are a thüringisch- schwarzburgisch - hohnsteinisches , thriving today Uradelsgeschlecht with the same name headquartered Kutzleben at Weissensee .
history
The sex appears for the first time in an Erfurt monastery document from 1120, in which Ritant de Cuczeleiben is mentioned as a witness. The family is mentioned in a document in 1221 with Rudolfus de Kozeleibin and in 1263 with Heinrich von Kutzleben . In a Schwarzburg document, the knights Heinrich von Kutzleben and Heinrich von Wiehe are mentioned as witnesses in 1338. The family had possessions and goods in Grüningen Castle , Nausitz , Westgreußen , Straussfurt and Freienbessingen (Betzingen, Freyen-Bessingen).
coat of arms
The coat of arms shows a black column in silver that is diagonally right. On the helmet with black and silver covers between black (and silver) rooster feathers two flags, divided by silver and black, which enclose a pointed white feather.

A grave slab of the knight Caspar von Kutzleben († 1606) adorned with coat of arms can be found in the wall of the village church of Grüningen Castle.
