A Kvikk Lunsj

Kvikk Lunsj is a chocolate biscuit bar from the Norwegian brand Freia . Developed in 1937, the product quickly became a popular companion on hikes and ski trips. Since the 1960s, tour suggestions have been printed on the back of the packaging. The manufacturer also sponsors the Norwegian hiking club .

Kvikk Lunsj is now produced by the food company Kraft Foods (now Mondelēz International ) , which Freia bought in 1993. The annual production is 50 million bars. From a purely statistical point of view, every Norwegian consumes nine tablets a year. A quarter of the annual production is sold at Easter, when Norwegians traditionally ski. Kvikk Lunsj is also available in Sweden and Denmark .

The name of this product could be translated as “quick meal”.

Although the chocolate bar is strongly reminiscent of the competing product KitKat from Nestlé due to its characteristic shape , according to a ruling by the European Court of Justice, it can still be sold.
