Coordinates: 32 ° 14 ′ S , 115 ° 49 ′ E The City of Kwinana is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . Kwinana belongs to the metropolis of Perth , the capital of Western Australia. The area is 118 km² and has over 39,000 inhabitants (2016).
Kwinana is located on the Australian west coast in the south of Perth and is about 25 to 35 kilometers from the city center. The seat of the City Council is in the city of Kwinana Town Center , where about 250 residents live (2016).
history
1970 Kwinana got the status of a town. After the city had exceeded the number of 30,000 inhabitants in 2012 according to calculations by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Kwinana was declared a city on September 17, 2012.

The Kwinana Council has eight members. They are elected by all residents of the LGA. Kwinana is not divided into districts. The mayor and chairman of the council are also recruited from among the councilors.
