Kynosura (mythology)
Kynosura ( Greek Κυνόσουρα ) is a figure in Greek mythology. Together with Helike she was a wet nurse of Zeus when he was hidden from his father Kronos in the Cretan Ida Mountains . She was considered one of the local nymphs . A place on Crete near the ancient city of Histoi is said to have been named after her.
As a thank you for her assistance, Zeus later immortalized her in the sky as the constellation Little Bear .
