László Görög

László Görög (born September 30, 1903 in Austria-Hungary , † July 24, 1997 in Los Angeles ) was an American screenwriter .

Life

László Görög was born in the former Austria-Hungary and emigrated to the United States in 1939 . His mother was born Preisz. In 1942 Görög first worked as a screenwriter in Hollywood for an episode of Julien Duvivier's star-studded episodic film Six Fates . Further, albeit few, engagements for feature films at various production companies followed by 1946. For the film Oh, Susanne! (1945) together with Thomas Monroe he was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Original Story. From 1953 he worked more often as a screenwriter, now mainly for American television. In 1963 he retired from show business. He was married to his wife Helen until his death. He died in Los Angeles in 1997 at the age of 93.
