László Tabár

Laszlo Tabar Kornél (* 21st October 1943 in Szikszó ) is a Hungarian radiologist and an expert on mammography - screening .

Live and act

Tabár has headed the mammography department at the Falun Central Hospital and the screening unit of the Swedish province of Dalarna County (Kopparberg) since 1977 , and has been a professor of radiology at Uppsala University since 1998 . Today he markets courses for radiologists and other medical professionals worldwide through his company Mammography Education ( Cave Creek , Arizona) and is the author of numerous relevant textbooks.

He is an honorary member of the Radiological Societies of Finland, Hungary, and the USA.

Tabár was the lead researcher of the Swedish Two-county-trial , one of the most cited studies that demonstrated the benefits of mammography screening.

A classification of breast density in the mammogram into five patterns proposed by Tabár has not been able to prevail against the usual classification of the ACR (four density levels).
