The Löcknitzer See is a lake near Löcknitz in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

The 44-hectare body of water is located in the municipality of Löcknitz. The eponymous town of Löcknitz with a beach is located on the northwestern bank. In the southwest, the meadowland of the Randow glacial valley, which is part of the municipality of Bergholz , borders on the body of water. Forest areas are in the north, east and on the steep south bank. The Schillerbach flows from the east to the Löcknitzer See . The Randow , which previously flowed through the Löcknitzer See, is led past it in the southwest. The old mouth of the Randow is closed with an earth wall. The water of the lake flows into the Randow via a short connecting canal with a barrage. In the middle part of the lake there is a wooded island. The maximum extent of the Löcknitzer See is about 1500 by 380 meters. The lake is designated for fishing and is home to fish species such as pike , pikeperch , eel , whitefish and carp .
