Location of Löstrup in Schleswig-Holstein

Löstrup ( Danish Løstrup ) is a district of the municipality of Sörup .

location

Löstrup is north, slightly east of the village of Sörup. The street from Löstrup bears the same name, i.e. Löstrup. The Löstrupau river is south of Löstrup. This obviously originates further north at Dingholz and flows into the Südensee .

background

The ending - rup of the place name indicates a village . The village was already marked on a Danish map from 1857/58. In 1886 the Barg-Löstrup-Möllmark volunteer fire brigade was founded. In 1962 Löstrup had 82 inhabitants. In 1981 Löstrup had 81 inhabitants. For a long time Löstrup belonged to the communities of the Flensburg-Land district . On February 15, 1970, the community of Löstrup was incorporated into Sörup.

Tell of the destruction of Löstrup by the witch Gunne

On the Flensburg-Kappler Chaussee, at the Löstrupstamm farm ( location ) near Dingholz , there is a paddock with a chicken grave. Kongenshy or "Gunneshy" is called this paddock. A woman named Gunne is said to have been burned as a witch on the chicken grave in 1570. For burning a farmer from Löstrup to three threads have delivered wood. Shortly before her death, the woman is said to have phoned a nearby thorn bush as a witness to her innocence. According to Gunnes' last " saying ", the village of Löstrup should be a victim of flames if this thorn bush were cut away. The onlookers present at least want to have heard this warning before the death of the "witch". The "threat" is said to have been heeded for a long time. The bush probably remained until the beginning of the 20th century. When it was finally removed, Gunne's spell was not fulfilled.

The legend is based on real facts. Apparently, in 1570, a woman named Gunne was actually burned as a " witch " at the said place .
