The Lübeck line Aktiengesellschaft was from 1924 to 1990 operating shipping companies based in Lübeck .

history

Baptism of the "Lübeck" on July 9, 1925

The company was founded in 1924 by Lübeck merchants to revitalize the port of Lübeck. The shipping company subsequently took up various liner services in the Baltic Sea. In 1935 the majority of shares went to the later sole shareholder Co. L. Possehl & over. After the end of World War II, six of the remaining seven ships had to be surrendered to the Allies. From 1950 ships were built again, with which passenger, general cargo, bulk cargo and RoRo services were maintained in the post-war decades. In addition, the Lübeck Line was also active in global tramping . With the Nordland purchased from Norway , Lübeck Line became the first German shipping company to offer cruises again after the war in August 1956. After the Karl Grammerstorf shipping company with three ships was taken over in 1964, the Regina Maris, the first newly built cruise ship for a German shipping company, was put into service in 1966 . Car transports were a particular focus of the shipping company's final years of operation. Lübeck Line operated as a shipping company until 1979 and at the beginning of 1980 handed over the management of the fleet to the Hamburg shipping company Christian F. Ahrenkiel . Lübeck Linie acted as the owner for another decade and finally sold the three remaining ships in 1990. As Lübeck Linie GmbH , the company continued to manage the property and was renamed Possehl Mittelstandsbeteiligungen Verwaltungs-GmbH in 2009 . In 2015, the company relocated to Eching and, as Novexx Solutions GmbH, manufactures and sells labeling systems.
