Gap (artist group)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lücke group was created in 1971 as an artist group around AR Penck , Peter Herrmann , Wolfgang Opitz , Harald Gallasch and Steffen Terk in Dresden . The naming "Lücke" referred to the name of the expressionist artist group Brücke , which was intended to indicate the gaps in the art business of the GDR .

history

Penck was already involved in the artist group Erste Phalanx Nedserd , which was dissolved in 1965 . The artist group Lücke experimented with the concept of collaborative art production. Using a painting technique called “Team Psychology Technology” or “TPT Program” for short, the artists of the gap designed works of art by simultaneously working on a picture surface together.

The group worked together in Wolfgang Opitz's studio at Hechtstrasse 25 ( Hechtviertel ) until 1976 .
