L'Islet is a regional county municipality ( French municipalité régionale du comté, MRC ) in the Canadian province of Québec .
It is located in the administrative region of Chaudière-Appalaches and consists of 14 subordinate administrative units (one city, ten municipalities and three districts). The MRC was founded on January 1, 1982. The main town is Saint-Jean-Port-Joli . The population is 18,505 and the area is 2097.6 km², which corresponds to a population density of 8.8 inhabitants per km².
