LAB is a Finnish rock band formed in Helsinki in 1997 .

The name of the band comes from the fact that the members were not yet familiar with the technology of the recording studio in their early days and felt like they were in a laboratory when they tried out all the functions one after the other.

history

The five Finns received their first record deal with BMG Records, under whose label the singles Get Me a Name , Til You're Numb , Isn't He Beautiful , Killing Me and the album Porn Beautiful are released.

In 2002 the song Beat the Boys in the computer game FlatOut was used as background music for the intro . This made the band very well known.

In 2003, he signed a record deal with Drakkar in Germany . With their single Beat the Boys , their first successes in Germany and others in Finland can be celebrated. The single Machine Girl is released from the following album .

Two years later, the third album Where Heaven Ends and the single When Heaven Gets Dirty followed shortly afterwards

style

The singer herself describes the style of music as "hard pop " or rock with a female voice. The band's portfolio includes calm ballads that alternate with fast, rocky pieces, with the voice of singer Ana always dominating.
