LIBREAS. Library Ideas is a library and information science journal published at the Institute for Library and Information Science (Berlin) of the Humboldt University in Berlin . It was first published on the Librarian's Day in 2005 and has been published annually since then with 2-4 issues. Each issue is dedicated to a specific focus topic.

At LIBREAS. Library Ideas is an open access journal published exclusively online . It is the first specialist journal of its kind in German-speaking countries. In 2008, a further editorial office was opened in Saint Paul (Minnesota) in cooperation with North American library researchers , which has now been closed.

Since issue 12 (spring 2008), the articles in the journal have been archived in parallel on the publication server (edoc server) of the Humboldt University in Berlin.

Since issue 23, the magazine has been published on the hosting service GitHub .

At the same time appear in LIBREAS. Weblog and regular posts in a Tumblr stream regardless of the issue.
